This morning, in PPA, the children made their volcanoes erupt, using warm water, vinegar, washing up liquid, red food colouring and the magic ingredient – bicarbonate of soda! If you would like to have another go at erupting them at home you will need:
50ml warm water
40 ml of vinegar
A squirt of washing up liquid
A squirt of red food colouring
1 heaped tsp of bicarbonate of soda
Add the ingredients in this order and your volcano will explode!
This afternoon we have been practising using French phrases of celebration. We now know that Bonne Annee means Happy New Year and Bravo means Well done!
On Friday afternoon, the children were given the opportunity to engage in a bit of exploratory learning. They investigated what changes the shape, size and direction of shadows.
Today, in Guided Reading, we got to know the main character from our story – Arthur (an unlikely hero). Through looking at a picture of him and reading an extract about him, we learnt that he is brave, likes exploring and enjoys his own company.
This is what our Above & Beyond board looked like at the end of the term…massive congratulations to those who made it up there by doing something fabulous!
This term, we have been working really hard win all our class ping pong balls. This week, we finally succeeded. As a treat we decorated some gingerbread men. They looked fabulous!
This morning we learnt how to multiply by 8! Some children had a go at a GD challenge…
